The Best Classic & Modern Diner Ever!

Hello guys, so lately I've been watching some walkthrough game by Pewdiepie ohoho if you're a real gamer and also a youtuber you must have known this guy because he is so famous in youtube lmao. I watched some his walkthrough game named Life is Strange. There is some old cafe in that game, people usually go to this kind of cafe when they want to eat breakfast..well not just for breakfast but most of time they go to this cafe in the morning, to have some coffee.. and eat breakfast of course. I remembered that kind of cafe when I watched a movie called A Cinderella Story. And I realized that I'm such an idiot because that kind of cafe is not a cafe, it called diner.

A diner is a prefabricated restaurant building characteristic of American life, especially in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and in other areas of the Northeastern United States, as well as in the Midwest, although examples can be found throughout the United States, Canada, and parts of Western Europe. Diners are characterized by offering a wide range of foods, mostly American, a distinct exterior structure, a casual atmosphere, a counter, and a late operating hours. "Classic American Diners" are often characterized by an exterior layer of stainless steel, a feature unique to diner architecture.

This diners serve many kind of American foods such as hamburgers, french fries, club sandwiches, bacon, hot dogs, hash browns, deep fried chicken, patty melts, sausages and other simple fare, these are often accompanied by baked beans, cole slaw. Most of the food is fried or grilled. And.. they also serve some breakfast food such as eggs (like fried eggs, omellets, and etc), waffles, pancakes, and french toast. We can always order coffee in every diner because most of it always serve coffee but many diners do not serve alcoholic drinks although some may serve beer and inexpensive wine.

Many diners have transparent display cases in or behind the counter for the desserts. These desserts include many kind of pies, some of them also offer cheesecake. The food they serve is usually quite cheap or inexpensive, with a decent meal (include sandwich, side dish, drink) available for less than ten dollars.. but well.. for me, an Indonesian it is quite pricey, though lol.

These are some of the best classic & modern diners in America :

Skyliner Diner

Skyliner Diners were built to be mobile, and the Skyliner traveled from its original location on Route 15 near Williamsport, PA, to its current home in the museum's atrium. Today, you’ll find children and their parents and grandparents enjoying milkshakes or root beer floats on the stools and in the booths, where long-distance truckers used to sip coffee and snack on pie. Want more than a drink? The Skyliner has a full menu of diner favorites available.

Mickey's Diner Car

Mickey’s Dining Car has been serving customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is on the National Register of Historic Places, and boasts a media presence that rivals that of Honey Boo Boo, having been featured on the Food Network, the Travel Network and in films like The Mighty Ducks, Jingle All the Way, and A Prairie Home Companion. But locals crowd into Mickey’s today for the same reasons their parents and grandparents did: good food at a fair price. Tuck into a signature sandwich like Mickey’s Sputnik – a double decker burger with lettuce and special sauce – or try a malted “so thick you can eat it with a fork.”

Wellsboro Diner

The Wellsboro Diner is an integral part of what is easily one of the prettiest towns in America. Visitors to the nearby Pennsylvania Grand Canyon often find their way to the diner before or after seeing the gorge, and enjoy the sensation of stepping back in time. A cake stand on the counter showcases the mouthwatering, mile-high cake of the day, like the chocolate and peanut butter or banana cake with buttercream icing. Everything is baked on-site, and locals come in for the pie and coffee today just as they did in 1939, when the diner first opened its doors. The food is comfortably simple, and served in generous portions.

Fremont Diner

Chef and owner Chad Harris taps into the agricultural gifts of the surrounding Carneros region to enliven his elevated take on comfort food, which at breakfast includes a fresh sunny-side up egg over house-smoked black-pepper brisket. A rusty pickup parked out front and walls lined with Harris's own antiques lend this tiny wine country waypoint—open since 2009—a throwback charm.

Harry's Coffee Shop

Sure, you can get a very SoCal breakfast of chicken salad-filled fresh Hawaiian papaya at Harry's. But we're guessing its 50-plus years of service is more thanks to the bacon-studded waffles, warm cinnamon rolls, old-fashioned milk shakes and famously strong joe.

Nickel Diner

Chef Monica May and general manager Kristen Trattner took a gamble rehabbing a 1940s-era diner so close to Skid Row, but downtown L.A. has embraced Nickel and its refined (but no less hearty) approach to the classics of American diner-dom. Just try to finish the generous Double Stuffed Chicken. Or better yet, leave room for sweets like Nickel's beloved maple-bacon doughnut.

Little Goat

Chef Stephanie Izard's follow-up to her reliably packed Girl & the Goat is a big, rich, satisfying update of the traditional diner concept, complete with a dozen inventive sandwiches and offbeat breakfasts like spaghetti with clams, eggs andguanciale. The attached bread shop supplies an array of fresh, crusty starches.

Becky's Diner

The coffee starts flowing at owner Becky Rand's friendly diner at 4 a.m., to serve Portland's early-rising lobstermen. But this diner with a scenic harbor view does a good job on much more than just java: Visitors love the blueberry pancakes, chowder and build-your-own club sandwiches. Naturally, lobster finds its way into a number of dishes, including the bib-worthy double lobster dinner.

A1 Diner

A1 may be housed in a humble, 1946-vintage Worcester Lunch Car, but owners Mike Giberson and Neil Andersen have admirably high culinary aspirations for their 25-year-old establishment. International flavors crop up on an ever-changing roster of specials, which complements a menu of more familiar diner classics.

Ruth's Diner

Updates by various owners over the years have kept this 80-year-old diner feeling fresh without sacrificing its vintage charm. The patio attracts crowds in summertime, but it's the diner staples like biscuits and gravy and a unique raspberry chicken dish that keeps Ruth's busy year-round.
