Hello peeps! It's been a long time since the last post, Craving for Cupcakes.
I'm a fan of many myth, one of them is absolutely Greek Myth. I grew up with two brothers and both of them are also like greek or roman myth. The first time I know about it, is from a play station's game named God of War and also Disney's Ariel.
Today, I wanna post something about Gemini and its relationship with greek myth. Hahaha, ofc I choose Gemini because its my zodiak. Lol.
So, many sources said that Gemini is a symbol of twins. The twins named Castor and Pollux. They born with the same mother, Leda but different fathers. Castor was born from a human, the real Leda's husband it also means that Castor is mortal, on the other side, Pollux's father is Zeus and that means Pollux is immortal.
I dont know how they can be twins although they were born from different father.
The twins were young, handsome, an adventorous. They took part in many adventures together and were well known for their childhood and curiousity. Castor was a renowned horseman, while Pollux for his great strength.
Somehow, their sister is the beautiful Helen of Troy, whom the great Trojan War is fought over. The twins not only took part in the war together, but were also Argonauts on the quest for the Golden Fleece with Jason.
Where Gemini myth comes into play is when Castor, being mortal, finally dies. Having spent their whole lives together, Pollux is distraught. He dont wanna live without his brother but since he is immortal, there's nothing he can do. So, he beg Zeus, for help.
Zeus decides that rather killing Pollux so he can be with Castor, he makes Castor immortal too and the two of them get to live together forever as the constellation Gemini.
